|

In this comment in this question about Botox, May asks:

Am coming to vancouver. Where do i go to get a good meal and good jazz (not the big band stuff, but smooth/easy listening stuff. No braindamage stuff. Thanks May

Any suggestions for her?

ADMIN: Changes. Lots of changes.

You'll probably notice a lot of changes here at Ask Locally Vancouver. First of all, we have completely re-implemented the site using Drupal, an open source Content Management System.

Next, a list of the users who have asked the most questions and provided the most answers/comments are on the right hand side, along with the most recent answers.

Look for more changes and enhancements to come. If you have any feedback or suggestions, or notice that anything is broken, just email me or leave a comment on this post.

ADMIN: Downtime

It looks like our host upgraded mySQL, which broke half of the SQLs that this software uses. "Oops". I think I have it all fixed up now, so let me know if you see any problems.

Where's the best place to buy a Mac?

So I'm thinking of making the jump back to Apple after years of being a PC user. Is there a Mac store in Vancouver that is better than the others? Or are they all the same? Would I be better off just ordering it from Apple's website or is it possible to get a deal buy buying locally (either on the machine itself or addons/Applecare).

Free news dailies (Dose, 24 Hours, Metro)

Now that they've been out for a while and have had a chance to get into their groove, which of the three new daily newspapers (Dose,24 Hours, or Metro) do you like best? Or do you even read them at all?

Xbox mods in the Lower Mainland

A friend of mine has some mod chip for his Xbox and wants to know where in the Lower Mainland he can get it installed. Does anyone know?

Used Bookstores

I'm looking for suggestions for Used bookstores. It doesn't only have to be the "dusty stacks of old classic books" type. The ones that have lots of new popular fiction are good too.

What are your favourites?

ADMIN: Tags, tags, tags

Flickr has 'em, del.icio.us has 'em, even Roland Tanglao has 'em. I'm talking about tags, and always late to the party, I've added them here on Ask Locally.

When making a post, enter in a few keywords seperated by spaces, and they'll be listed along with your question. To see all of the tags that have been used, go to http://vancouver.asklocally.com/tags or click on the Archive link up top.

Your weekend walks/things to do?

Where you do guys go when you just want to go for a stroll on the weekends? I'm looking for somewhere new to go other than the Seawall, which of course is beautiful but it can get pretty crowded and I've been there a million times.

ADMIN: By request, new RSS feeds!

I've been sidetracked for the past little while by the birth of my first child (just had to thrown that in there), but that hasn't stopped me from adding some new functionality to Ask Locally. Thanks to Richard's great feature request over on Talkback, there are 3 new RSS feeds that you can subscribe to:

1) An RSS feed to track the answers to a question, 2) an RSS feed to track the questions asked by a particular user, and 3) an RSS feed that tracks all the answers posted to this Ask Locally.
