Thanks. It turns out that I ended up calling Vic's Electric based on another recommendation. The guy was pretty good and my dryer is up and running again.

It was a loose connection in a junction box that was the problem, I'm embarassed to say. I could have fixed that myself but oh well, it's easy to say that after the fact. :)

Brooks, I know someone... my brother-in-law's fiancee's father. Yeah, didja catch that? Anyways, he's actually a powerline technician but he's good with all kinds of live current, inside and out. Email me with your questions and I'll pass them along and see if it's the sort of thing he can do.

Has anyone had any good experienced with an electrician in Vancouver? I have a 95 year old house and there are some wacky things going on with the wiring so I'd like to have someone come take a look at it rather than frying myself.
