I highly recommend TOWNLINE TAILORS on Howe between Pender and Dunsmuir. They've been around for years. custom make suits and have done a fabulous jobs on several alterations for me.

Do not go here. I went to Townline Tailors on account that it came recommended. They put a hole in my pants, did not properly fix a suit jacket I was having taken in, and the lady actually had the nerve to tell me that it was because I had "wide shoulders" that it wasn't done properly. I am a petite girl with not a big frame who did not appreciate that explanation. They did not even touch two shirts I requested to have button holes placed in and claimed that no one had been assigned the work. I will never go back.

I have never been to Townline on Howe but definitely recommend the one in The Bay downtown inside the men's suit area. An older gentleman named Tony runs it. I always take my clothing there, and a number of suits that I have bought in the US (as they are always much cheaper down there)... I even trusted him with a very expensive Canali suit and was very happy with the alteration he did. Once when I went in he commented how the buttons on the suit I was wearing were improperly moved and he fixed it for free, this was an expensive suit I had bought from Harry Rosen and they had done the alterations incorrectly for me!

Do not go to Townline Tailors!! I took a Hugo Boss suit there and they could not take in my pants properly. After 3 attempts (continually sinching in the seam in a process that took all of 5 minutes - where is the care in their work?), they still left a crooked crease on the bum which resulted in an excess of fabric on one cheek and the pants now ride up awakwardly and very uncomfortably. I finally walked out of there after they told me I was too picky and now I am looking for a good tailor to fix their mistake!!

If you really wants to have a good alterations for you cloth -go to METROPOLIS ALTERATIONS in Metrotown.I been there for 6 years and never been upset: excellent service, profesisonal work 604 438 8974

There is a tailor from hong kong called Himark Martin Tailors who often visit Vancouver on sales basis.I have done two suits with them, I should say they are not bad,after all I made couple of suits in CAD 1200 including postage.I m quite happy with the fit,material used and the finishing product.I have always used local tailors before,they are quite expensive compare to one I have used from hong kong. I used to make a bespoke suit for not less than CAD 700.
