Looking for a tattoo artist in Vancouver/Lower Mainland to re-colour and correct some existing tattoos. Any suggestions, please?

Check out Sacred Heart

Check out Sacred Heart Tattoo. They've got a couple of different locations in town, one at Alma and 10th, one at Davie near Denman and I beleive another location though I'm not sure of their address. I had a cover up done a number of years ago. It was a difficult location, outter knee area. I consulted with their artist and together we created a totally new tattoo. I'm very pleased with their work. Go in, have a look around and tell them what your seeking. They will create something totally new or work from existing tattoos. They're in the phone book but you can also find them if you "google.ca" the words "Sacred Heart Tattoo Vancouver". I'm sure you'll be happy with their quality and artists. Good luck, Marnee

I've had all my tattoos done

I've had all my tattoos done at Dutchman Tattoos in New Westminster. I'm fussy about my body art and they do excellent work. My son had one of his done there and it's the most beautifully coloured tattoo I've ever seen.

Check out Liquid Amber Tatoo

Check out Liquid Amber Tatoo in their new space on Burrard & Davie. Can't remember the street address, but I know their website is www.liquidambertatoo.com
My friend has one on her shoulder and it is GORGEOUS. Justina is the artist and she does some great work.

Don't go to Jimbo at Ink

Don't go to Jimbo at Ink bomb, that guy hacked up my arm but good..and over charged me for his shit work and work ethic.Guys a dick and doesn't deserve any business.

"your cocky ass didn't

"your cocky ass didn't deserve Jimbow's finest...."

Listen sweety, no one deserves Jimbow's shotty work..I wouldn't wish his "finest" on the turd I just dropped off in the toilet.
Jimbow's finest..what a crock, I've never heard such absolute shite in my life.
True to his art hey? More like true to ripping people off so he can buy yet another car. He's a right c*nt!.

Shannon at Foxfire Tattoos

Shannon at Foxfire Tattoos in New West does really good cover-up work, FYI.

Jeremy Glen at Infinity Ink

Jeremy Glen at Infinity Ink Tattoo was hands down the best artist to work with. I had 3 years of preparation and 2 months of combing Vancouver to find an artist who could not only tattoo and draw, but take my idea and make it into something that was too awesome for a non-artist like me to come up with, and Jeremy was the man.

We did a lot of the work in a computer program (fotoshop?)which was something that seemed really useful and I was surprised that no other shop I went to did this.

I know there are probably better artists, but for 1st time clients like me, he was totally nice and had no attitude, and my tattoo gets compliments from other tattoo artists even.

That's my two cents, hope it helps! I posted the link to his website above, mine is in the gallery on page 2. Good luck, you'll want another one right after!

In all honesty I serious DO

In all honesty I serious DO NOT suggest Jimbo at Inkbomb at all either. His work is sloppy and very lazy. There are more artists out there who actually want to do a good job. Don't waste your time or money with someone who doesn't care about doing a good tattoo.

Go to foxfire tattoo's in

Go to foxfire tattoo's in new west, have had most of my work done there, awesome work, website is www.foxfiretattoos.com

hi, m intrested in having

hi,
m intrested in having tatoo done on my elbow and neck but i m not sure of design. Secondly i want to know that on first appontment when you approch any artist to discuss design to they charge you. And last whet will be the approximate cost of a 1 1/2 inch radius Tatoo.
thnx
karry

what did you get a gay ass

what did you get a gay ass trible band around your biciept

That might be the stupidest

That might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. That any artist would reserve their "finest" work for people that they deem "worthy" is slap in the face to ethics and the validity of tattoo as an art form and an industry. Every artist should be guaranteeing every client their absolute best and any artist that engages in the kind of practice you're suggesting needs to turn in their fucking license forever.

I have had my Tattoos done

I have had my Tattoos done at two different places ...West Coast Piercings in Surrey ...Lodger... is great artist as well as a great Tattooist...I also had a portrait done at FoxFire Tattoos in New West by Shannon ,she did an amazing job ..I would definelty reccomend either of these for anyone looking to get good work done ...

I had my first tattoo done

I had my first tattoo done by Jeremy at Infinity Ink, and was very unhappy with the result. The lines were squiggly where they should have been straight, the points didn't meet properly - the weight of the lines was not what I asked for - and the room was full of people and seemed rushed and unprofessional. To each their own, but I won't be returning.

I went to Justina at Liquid Amber and she fixed the tattoo beautifully, and I'll be going back to her for all future tattoos. She has a gorgeous portfolio.

I also had a tattoo done by

I also had a tattoo done by Jimbo at Inkbomb, well correction, he did the outline, then made a series of excuses as to why he couldn't go thru with another appointment, sick, something came up, etc, etc. He's pretty hand heavy too. A nice guy, but bad work ethic.

Best all around shop = Sacred Heart

other than that these are the reputable, good, custom, clean and nice shops in Vancouver,

Black Water

Hey just wondering what you

Hey just wondering what you think about clints work at craftsman tattoo and dave nicholsons work at dutchman. john "the dutchman" doesnt seem to be doing tattoos anymore....

Anyone able to tell me about

Anyone able to tell me about 40days40nights tattoo parlor?

I agree with Steve Moore

I agree with Steve Moore being an amazing custom tattoo artist. The artist in him comes before the tattooing and his work is hand's down the best I've even seen. His use of colours is second to none.

I had a back piece done (Derek Hess' 'Burned Out') by Steve and it's truly amazing work...although I'm of course biased but have received nothing but compliments from total strangers that have seen it when I've been at the beach or pool.

Check out his site at getmooretattoos.com to see his work. Anyone know of someone that does great portrait work though? I'm after a portrait of my father but need someone that can do a 1:1 exact replication as that shit's permanent! LOL. Thanks.

Hey after reading good

Hey after reading good things about sacred hearts, i wanted to know which of their 3 studio's is the best one (specially for a custom design)?

thanks

Clint Danroth is hands down

Clint Danroth is hands down the best tattooer in the city...I've had numerous pieces done by him over the past couple of years and am addicted to his work. He has the ability to take a simple idea and turn it into a masterpiece. Check him out www.clintdanroth.com

You may want to see Charles

You may want to see Charles or Sara at To The Point Tattoo in Surrey. Both are amazing artists and they have a lot of experience in really tough tattoos.
Charles = 30+ years and Sara apprenticed under him.
I'm posting a link to their website here:
www.tothepointtatoo.webs.com

Anyway, their shop appears in the Top Tattoo Shops list at toptattooshops.com, and everyone I know whose gone to the have been more than happy.

Any suggestions for an

Any suggestions for an artist for a good portrait/angel tattoo. I am in the Surrey area but will go anywhere in vancouver for a good black and white portrait. Thanks a bunch.

I have been doing a lot of

I have been doing a lot of research for tattoos recently as I am getting my 2nd one shortly ( first one was at Kat von D's place in LA) and so far I have found that Vancouver has a few amazing artists. I agree with Clint Danroth being amazing at Craftman, also Rob Hope who is the resident guest artist there, check out his work ( though not sure he is accepting new clients)
Dave at Sacred heart ( on Nelson St) has great work too and he might be top of my list of people not booked for 6 months. The Sacred Heart on w.10th has been around the longest, but I would look at the portfolios before I recommended a particular Sacred Heart, each have a pretty good name, but it depends on the piece you want.

A lot of people talk about Adrenaline being top notch, but I wasnt overly impressed, at least it wasnt what I was looking for.

I should note this is only research, I dont have pieces done from each of these shops.

Hope that helps somebody.

I have done lots, I mean

I have done lots, I mean LOTS of research on some talented artists and I have seen many. The top ones that I have found are probably Steve Moore, Rob Hope, Clint Danroth, and Jeff from Monkey King. These are by far the top artists that I have heard of and done some research on. Please let me know if there are any other talented artists available. I am looking for an artist that will do some custom Japanese style art. So far I have Clint, and Jeff on my list.

Let me know of any other talented artists please. Thanks!
